Rache Brand is a leading retail strategist who has led product re-development, research, design and builds for national and international brands in the areas of retail convenience, small grocery, and education. Her primary interest is in affordable dining solutions to ensure healthy, accessible food for all.
Most recently, Brand worked with John S. Dyson Professor of Marketing Brian Wansink of Cornell University to develop a K-12 toolkit that boosted school-dining sales. The project, undertaken at the university’s Food & Brand Lab, successfully increased students’ fruit and vegetable consumption by 140 percent.
Brand has been a consultant to the Compass Group, working across its many foodservice divisions. She recently, for example, led a Chartwells project that included new branding, facility design and marketing within the school-dining sector.
Prior to that, she led project management on an award-winning dining program for higher education called Pulse on Dining. Brand also developed several signature product lines for Kwik Trip Stores in the Midwest, increasing revenue of coffee, water and salad programs. Her ‘quick nutrition fact’ label has been added to all food products in the Kwik Trip Kitchen Cravings line.
Brand launched her consulting business in 1998 and has since worked with many national brands, including Starbucks, Subway, Burger King, Sbarro, International Paper, Kwik Trip, Sodexo, Parkhurst Dining Services, and Mighty Leaf Tea. A writer and speaker, she has contributed articles to Convenience Store News and has made presentations about retail convenience at many food-related conferences.
Brand is a graduate of the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she studied design and marketing.
