Karen Zaniker’s expertise spans strategic marketing, planning and training, mature concept evolution, and new restaurant launches. She also leads workshops and training seminars for restaurant owners, marketers, executives, and unit-level managers.
Zaniker was a key member of the Boston Market brand revitalization team, leading strategic marketing planning, PR and local marketing execution for the pilot launch. Zaniker continued as an integral part of its national rollout, exceeding 10 percent comparable sales goals.
Prior to her association with RTS Zaniker was Vice President of Tom Feltenstein’s Neighborhood Marketing Institute. There, she developed local-store marketing strategies designed to increase sales by unifying operations, marketing, local-store marketing, promotions, and brand management in all restaurant segments.
Zaniker also served on marketing teams at Arby’s Restaurants and Bruegger’s Bagels. She was also marketing director for Corporate Healthcare Financing, Inc., where she restructured the company’s brand ID and strategic marketing program for B2B.
Zaniker has helped such chains as Lawry’s Restaurants, Lettuce Entertain You, RARE Hospitality, Bennigan’s, Steak ‘n Shake, Friendly’s Ice Cream Corporation, Captain D’s, Rock Bottom Breweries/Old Chicago, Miami Subs Grill and Boston Market.
