Sara holds a degree
in Business Management and began her professional bilingual career in New York
City. Sara then relocated to Phoenix, Arizona and entered the field of Risk Management
for St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. There she sat on the Safety Committee
Board for 5 years. She was then initiated to the Human Resources
field for the hospitality industry with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in 1992, where
she served as Director of Training for Hyatt's Western Division making her responsible
for the training needs of 22 hotels. During her tenure as Training Director, Sara
developed and implemented various leadership workshops for all levels of management.
Sara was also responsible for the development of Safety
Programs and learning programs for non-management staff members. Three years later,
Sara was promoted to Director of Human Resources for the Hyatt in Newport Beach,
CA. where she and her team became one of the top five hotels in the company.
In search to further her career, Sara accepted the position
as Director of Human Resources with Fairmont Hotels in Santa Monica, CA. where
she gained experience of working in a union environment. There, she successfully
negotiated a 5-year contract and established a respectful, working relationship
with Local 814, H.E.R.E. During her tenure, she worked in both union and non-union
environments with a focus on Labor Law and Immigration Compliance. Before
leaving the corporate world and starting her own business, Sara served as the
Director of Human Resources for Ruby's Restaurant Group in California, a multi
unit establishment.
Sara's affiliations include the
Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), the National Human Resources Association
(NHRA), the Council for Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART), California Restaurant
Association (CRA) and California Chamber of Commerce. She is also involved a various
community associations.
